Willock & One Mart Team Up to Donate Bottled Water to Three Schools
Former Speaker of the House of Assembly and businessman Mr. Julian Willock, along with his Third District Committee and Ms. Kishma P. Forbes of Virgin Islands School and Office Supplies, are making a positive impact in the community once again.
This time, they have partnered with One Mart Superstore to donate 15 cases of bottled water to schools and families in the Sea Cows Bay area. Mr. Willock stated, ‘’On Monday, October 27, we will donate twelve cases of bottled water to three schools in the District Three community and three cases to families.”
The schools are the Ebenezer Thomas Primary School, The Seventh-Day Adventist School, and the St. George’s Secondary School. While this is a one-time contribution by One Mart Superstore for this year, Mr. Willock noted that he will seek additional corporate support from others to assist the three schools with needs ranging from water to school supplies and other requests they have made.
One Mart’s Marketing Manager, Ms. Verna A. Samuel, stated that One Mart is “no stranger to giving back to the community as our long history of donations and other philanthropy works are well known throughout the Territory”. She noted that “we strongly believe in our corporate responsibility to help where we can.”
Over the past three years, Mr. Willock and his Third District Committee, along with Ms. Forbes, have contributed numerous items to the three schools in the Sea Cow’s Bay community, including books, backpacks, chairs, lunch benches, fans, graduation prizes, and various teaching materials.

The Governor’s Office, with support from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, this week delivered Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) training to frontline officers in the Virgin Islands, including members of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, prison officers and volunteers from Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR).
The program is designed to help first responders recognize and manage the psychological effects of traumatic incidents encountered in the course of their duties. Participants received instruction on identifying early signs of stress-related responses and providing peer support following critical events.
According to the Governor’s Office, the training forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen welfare and resilience within frontline services across the territory.
“By strengthening welfare and resilience within our front line services, we are ensuring that the people who protect us are supported themselves,” the Governor’s Office said in a statement.
Officials thanked participants for their involvement and acknowledged the trainer for leading the sessions.
