Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) have recovered a high-powered firearm and detained three individuals in connection with the ongoing investigation into the June 20 homicide of Eric Alezis Albert.
According to the RVIPF, two minors and one adult were taken into custody in relation to the discovery. No charges have been filed at this time.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool confirmed the development, calling the firearm recovery a significant advancement in the case.
“The recovery of this weapon is a critical development in our investigation,” Vanterpool said. “It is especially alarming that such a dangerous firearm was discovered in a residence with minors. This underscores the urgent need for vigilance and support from the community.”
The RVIPF continues to appeal to the public for any information that may assist in the investigation. Individuals with relevant information are asked to contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).
