Exness, a global multi-asset broker, has donated robotic kits to the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports to help students in the Virgin Islands develop skills in robotics, coding and engineering.
The handover took place in Road Town, Tortola, where representatives from Exness presented the kits to ministry officials and students from the Robotic Club. The initiative is part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and is intended to foster technological literacy and innovation among young people.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Ministry on this exciting venture,” said Jacob Wissum, director of Exness in the BVI. “At Exness, we believe that investing in the future and empowering the next generation with STEM education is crucial. These robotic kits will provide students with invaluable hands-on experience, sparking their curiosity and cultivating critical thinking skills essential for success.”
Hon. Sharie B. de Castro, minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Sports, thanked Exness for the donation. “These robotic kits will allow our students to explore complex concepts in a fun and engaging way, inspiring them to pursue careers in science and technology. We immensely thank Exness for their commitment to education in the BVI,” she said.
Each kit includes components, sensors and programming tools that enable students to build, program and operate robots. Ministry officials said the tools will support the Robotic Club and other school-based STEM activities.
Exness said the project reflects its ongoing effort to contribute positively to the communities where it operates by preparing students for a technology-driven future.
