Twelve past and present diplomatic leaders were recognised during a gala ceremony marking the official launch of Diplomatic Week 2025. The honourees—Dr. Sandra Besson, Ms. Tracy Bradshaw, Ms. Najan Christopher, Ms. Dwynel Davies, Ms. Elise Donovan, Mr. Kedrick Malone, Ms. Sylvia Moses, Ms. Sherri Ortiz, Honourable Dawn Smith, Mrs. Hadassah Ward-Fraser, and Dr. Ricardo Wheatley—were acknowledged for their service to the Virgin Islands’ diplomatic and international affairs from 2004 to the present.
Junior Minister for Financial Services, Economic Development and Digital Transformation Lorna G. Smith, OBE, received the Pioneer Award for her early contributions to the Territory’s global outreach efforts. Smith was credited with helping establish the Virgin Islands’ foundation in international diplomacy during its formative years.
The event, which celebrated the Territory’s evolving role in global relations, highlighted the dedication of individuals who represented the Virgin Islands in regional and international arenas.
