The British Virgin Islands girls’ under-14 national team lost 3-2 to French Guiana on Friday in its first match of the Caribbean Football Union U-14 Girls Challenge Series in Trinidad and Tobago.
The game, played at Larry Gomes Stadium, saw the BVI take a 1-0 lead into halftime before French Guiana scored three goals in the second half. The BVI added a second goal but could not close the gap.
Friday’s match marked the BVI’s debut in the regional tournament. The team is participating in the 2025 CFU Challenge Series, which features youth teams from across the Caribbean.
