The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged two men following separate firearm seizures during the annual Festival period.
On August 2, officers arrested Miguel Weekes, 32, of West End, during a targeted operation. Police said they had maintained surveillance after observing suspicious behavior and approached Weekes outside a nightclub, where a search recovered a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol and 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Two days later, on August 4, officers arrested Kei-Andre Williams, 22, of Macnamara, at the Rise and Shine tramp. According to the RVIPF, Williams was found in possession of a Glock 40 semi-automatic pistol loaded with seven .40 caliber rounds.

Both men have been charged with carrying a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of explosives. They remain in police custody pending their next court appearance.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline Vanterpool said in a statement that the force continues to take “decisive action to remove illegal firearms from our streets, particularly during the festival period when large crowds gather.” She urged members of the public to report suspicious activity to help maintain a secure environment.
Anyone with information on illegal weapons or suspicious activity may contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS) or (284) 800-8477 from overseas.
