A number of individuals are in custody following a major drug bust operation conducted early Tuesday morning on Tortola.
The coordinated effort involved the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), the Department of Immigration, His Majesty’s Customs, and key external law enforcement partners.
In a statement issued today, the RVIPF confirmed: “A joint marine and land-based operation took place overnight on Wednesday, June 18, as part of a coordinated operation involving officers and assets from the Department of Immigration, His Majesty’s Customs and the RVIPF, as well as from other external law enforcement agencies.”
Police have not disclosed the number of individuals arrested in connection with the operation.
“This joint effort forms part of ongoing multi-agency initiatives to address cross-border criminal activity and safeguard the Territory.”
The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities stating that further details will be released in due course.
