BVIFA Hosts Goalkeeper Coaching Workshop

Eleven coaches, including four women and two youth participants, attended a goalkeeper coaching workshop hosted by the BVI Football Association on Aug. 30. The session was led by Morris Mark Jr., the national team’s goalkeeper coach.

The workshop, which combined classroom instruction with on-field drills, covered areas such as ball handling and passing with the feet. Organizers said the program was designed to strengthen the coaching of goalkeepers across local clubs.

“This is part of the development process,” Mark said. “We don’t have many goalkeepers at the youth level, so this is a step to support clubs and grow the position locally.”

The BVIFA said the initiative is part of its broader coaching education strategy aimed at enhancing player development throughout the Territory.
