The Department of Immigration announced that paper submissions for conditional permit applications will end Dec. 15, as Acting Chief Immigration Officer Nadia Demming-Hodge and the department prepare to transition to a fully digital application system beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
Paper submissions will be suspended from Dec. 16–31 while staff complete the processing of pending applications and finalize preparations for the new online system. Officials said all conditional permit applications must be filed digitally once the system launches.
“This transition is one step in our ongoing efforts to modernize the Department of Immigration’s services,” Demming-Hodge said. “Moving the conditional permit application process online is part of a broader, long-term commitment to digitizing all of our services. By embracing technology, we aim to improve efficiency, strengthen transparency, and make our services more accessible to our clients.”
The department said it regrets any inconvenience caused by the temporary pause and thanked the public for its cooperation during the modernisation process.
