The Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee has announced Johnney Immanuel Benjamin as the 2025 recipient of its annual scholarship award. Benjamin, a Class Six student at the Ivan Dawson Primary School, graduated as the top-performing student of the Class of 2025.
During the school’s graduation ceremony held on July 2, Benjamin was presented with multiple awards and trophies in recognition of his academic achievements, including the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship for Top Student. The scholarship was presented by Keith Dawson, President of the Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship Committee.
In his address to classmates, teachers, and families, Benjamin expressed gratitude to his family, educators, friends, and God. He also encouraged his fellow graduates to embrace the future with confidence.
“As we step into the future, let us carry forward the lessons we’ve learnt, and the values we’ve upheld. Let us approach new challenges with determination and optimism, knowing that we are prepared for what lies ahead,” he said. “Today is not a farewell, but a celebration of the memories we’ve created and the future we’re about to embark upon.”
Benjamin, 12, is the son of Ms. Rosa Lina Reinoso Ramirez. Outside of academics, he enjoys basketball, soccer, and track and field.
The Ivan Dawson Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a student demonstrating outstanding academic performance and character.
