Governor Daniel Pruce issued a strong condemnation in response to the brazen armed robbery at Aladdin Store in Flemming Street, Road Town, today January 9.
In an exclusive statement to JTV, Governor Pruce expressed his dismay and solidarity with those affected by the crime.
“Like the rest of the community, I am appalled to hear about today’s armed robbery,” Governor Pruce stated. “My thoughts are with those who were affected by this shocking crime.”
The robbery, which occurred earlier today, has sparked widespread concern and prompted swift action from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF).
Governor Pruce assured the public that the RVIPF is actively investigating the incident and reiterated his unwavering support for their efforts.
“The police are investigating and have my full support,” Governor Pruce affirmed. “As I made clear in my swearing-in speech, security of the BVI is a top priority.”
Governor Pruce, who assumed office recently, has made tackling crime and ensuring public safety key pillars of his administration.
“I won’t comment further at this stage as it is an ongoing investigation,” Governor Pruce added, emphasiSing the need for due process and allowing law enforcement authorities to conduct their inquiries without interference.
