Two Police Officers Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in West End
Two officers from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were injured in a single-vehicle accident in the West End Police District overnight, according to an official statement issued on Saturday, July 6.
The officers, who were traveling in a marked police vehicle at the time of the incident, were reportedly responding to a sudden death call in the district when the crash occurred. The vehicle sustained front-end damage, and both officers were transported to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital. One officer is reported to have sustained serious injuries, while the other’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Acting Commissioner of Police Jacqueline E. Vanterpool
“The injured officers are receiving the full support of the RVIPF during their recovery,” said Acting Commissioner Jacqueline Vanterpool in a statement. “Out of a need to balance transparency while maintaining investigative integrity, I am unable to give further details until the investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident is completed.”
The RVIPF indicated that additional information will be released as necessary. The investigation remains ongoing.
