A man is counting himself lucky as a heavy pole narrowly missed hitting the window of a ferry he was on.
According to our information, a barge struck a pole at the St. Thomas Bay Ferry Dock, causing the pole to then hit the ferry as it was preparing to leave the dock.
Fortunately, the pole missed the window where the man was seated. This incident occurred at approximately 9:35 am today, April 8, 2024.
The ferry did not sustain any damages. We understand that officers of the BVI Electricity Corporation are currently on the dock addressing the situation.
