At 5 p.m., Erin was located about 900 miles east-southeast of the territory, with a gradual west-northwestward shift in its track possible Thursday night into Friday.
Earlier Thursday, the Virgin Islands was placed under a Tropical Cyclone Alert. Forecasts indicate the system could bring strong winds, rough seas, and flooding over the weekend, particularly in low-lying and flood-prone areas.
Residents and visitors are urged to monitor official updates and review preparedness plans.
The Department of Disaster Management emphasized that it is not a meteorological office and that its updates are drawn from contracted professional sources.
