Residents and visitors now have weekend access to immigration services, following the Department of Immigration’s launch of Saturday appointments on Nov. 1, 2025 — part of an effort to make its operations more convenient and responsive to the public’s needs.
According to Acting Chief Immigration Officer Nadia Demming-Hodge, the new service will operate weekly between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the department’s Processing Unit. The initiative aims to improve accessibility for individuals who are unable to visit during regular weekday hours.
Saturday appointments will be available for extensions to entry permits for workers and dependents, as well as extensions to landing permits for visitors. Appointments must be scheduled in advance through the Department of Immigration, and customers are advised to arrive on time with all required documents and applicable fees to avoid delays.
Demming-Hodge said the new service reflects the department’s focus on improving customer service and efficiency. “We understand that many of our clients have demanding schedules and work in industries that require them to be away from the mainland during the week,” she said. “By offering Saturday appointments, we aim to make it easier for residents and visitors to access our services in a way that fits their needs.”
The Department of Immigration stated that it remains committed to modernizing its operations. Plans are underway to streamline internal processes, expand digital service options, and strengthen staff training to improve reliability and efficiency.
