Police are investigating a shooting in the Purcell Estate area that left one man hospitalized on Sunday night, October 25, 2025.
According to the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), officers were called to the scene shortly before 9:00 p.m. after reports of gunfire. The victim, a male, was taken to the Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. His condition has not yet been released.
Images circulating on social media show a car riddled with bullet holes, though it remains unclear whether the victim was inside that vehicle at the time of the attack.
The RVIPF has not released any details on possible suspects or a motive for the shooting but said updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
This latest shooting comes amid growing concern about gun violence and crime in the British Virgin Islands. In recent weeks, a series of armed robberies has shaken the territory — including one at the Touch Down Bar in Road Town, where a young man was shot during a robbery.
The incident also follows a recent jailbreak, with two prisoners still on the run.
