Jaleel Croal won the final 400-meter race for senior athletes on Saturday, Aug. 9, at the A.O. Shirley Recreation Grounds, finishing with a time of 48.39 seconds. The event marked the last local competition for several athletes before departing for college.
Croal was followed by Wanyae Belle, who placed second in 48.65 seconds, and Adriano Gumbs, who took third with a time of 48.85.
Jahshani Farrington finished fourth in 49.01, Tyrese James fifth in 49.27, Bruce Huggins sixth in 49.65, and Vadley Sylvester seventh in 50.51.
J’den Jackson did not finish the race.
The event was organised as a farewell for the athletes, offering them a final opportunity to compete on home soil before continuing their academic and athletic careers abroad.
