The Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport resumed operations at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, the BVI Airports Authority announced.
While the airport is open, officials said individual airlines will determine their own flight schedules in light of Hurricane Erin’s continued presence in the region. Travelers were urged to contact their carriers directly for the latest information on delays, cancellations or rescheduled flights.
“The safety and well-being of all passengers and airport personnel remain the Authority’s highest priority,” the agency said in a statement. Officials added that weather conditions will be monitored closely and additional updates provided as needed.
