Tortola Hit by String of Shootings: RVIPF Investigates Fatality and Multiple Gunfire Incidents
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is investigating a series of shooting incidents that occurred overnight across Tortola, including the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man in Purcell Estate.
Police confirm that Quentinn Noel, 20, was shot and killed near his residence shortly before 2:00 a.m. today. Detectives from the Major Incident Team, supported by other RVIPF units, are actively pursuing leads to solve the case, which has been designated a high-priority investigation.
In addition to the fatal shooting, officers responded to reports of gunfire at three other locations during the past 24 hours. Proactive efforts by the police led to the seizure of a significant quantity of ammunition and the arrest of an individual in connection with firearms-related offences.
Acting Commissioner of Police Jacquelyn Vanterpool will hold a press briefing at 4:00 p.m. today at Police Headquarters to provide updates on these incidents and outline ongoing efforts to address violent crime in the territory.
The RVIPF has emphasised the importance of community support in its investigations and is appealing to the public for information. Young Man Fatally Shot in Purcell Community, First Murder of 2025
A 20-year-old man identified as Quintinn McGlore, also known as “MB,” was fatally shot in the early hours of January 15, in the Purcell community. The incident marks the first homici
de in the Virgin Islands for the year.
According to reports, gunfire startled residents at approximately 1:43 a.m. Emergency responders and police arrived shortly after and discovered McGlore’s lifeless body near a motorcycle. Investigators began collecting evidence as distraught family members arrived at the scene in visible anguish.
One resident shared their thoughts on the incident, suspecting the assailants fled the scene on foot. “There were no motorbikes or cars heard leaving the scene,” the resident said. “It seems like w
hoever did this was all on foot.”
Emergency services reportedly arrived at around 2:11 a.m., but McGlore was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force is actively investigating the case and is urging anyone with information to come forward.

Police Investigate Gunfire at Hannah’s Estate, No Injuries Reported
The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) are investigating reports of gunfire in Hannah’s Estate late on the evening of January 8.
Responding swiftly to a report of shots fired, officers of RVIPF found evidence of damage to multiple vehicles and an apartment building in the area.
The investigation revealed what appeared to be bullet-related damage, but no physical evidence—such as projectiles or spent casings—was recovered from the scene, according to a police statement. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Residents of the affected apartment have received assistance from authorities, while investigators continue to comb through leads.
