D’Moi Hodge has signed a contract with the Dallas Mavericks, the team announced on Friday, Sep. 19. The deal adds considerable depth to the Mavericks’ guard rotation ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season. The Mavericks, who are likely to be without Kyrie Irving until early 2026, have strengthened their back court through a series of signings, including Dante Exum’s re-signing, acquisition of D’Angelo Russell, and bringing in Dennis Smith Jr.
Hodge, from the British Virgin Islands, played last season for Aris Thessaloniki in Greece. In 2023-24 he was on a two-way contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, appearing in seven NBA games alongside Anthony Davis, Max Christie and D’Angelo Russell. He averaged 2.0 points and 5.9 minutes per game in his NBA appearances.
In the G League, Hodge has appeared in 30 games, posting averages of 12.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
Hodge’s defensive potential is cited as a particular asset, with the ability to guard both point guards and shooting guards. Offensively, he is recognized for his three-point shooting potential, though consistent performance at the NBA level remains to be established.
The Mavericks begin training camp later this fall, when Hodge will compete for a roster spot under head coach Jason Kidd.
