The Elmore Stoutt High School Lady Rams earned a second-place finish in the varsity division of the Cheer on the Ground Competition held March 27 at the Digna Marie Wheatley Gymnasium at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.
Ivanna Eudora Kean High School placed first in the competition, while St. Croix Educational Complex High School finished third.
The competition featured teams from Ivanna Eudora Kean High School, St. Croix Central High School, St. Croix Educational Complex High School, Elmore Stoutt High School and Bregado Flax Educational Centre.
Competing off-island, the Lady Rams delivered a routine that secured the silver position in the varsity category.
“We came. We saw. We killed it! At the end of it all, we were awarded 2nd place,” the team said in a statement following the event.
The competition also included an elementary exhibition segment, highlighting continued development of cheerleading programmes across the Virgin Islands.
