Community Unites for Coastal Cleanup: Trident Partners with Local Schools for Environmental Initiative

Trident in collaboration with local schools and community members, spearheaded a coastal cleanup initiative on April 20, 2024, spanning from Tortola Pier Park to Queen Elizabeth Park. What began as a simple call to action exceeded expectations as students and parents eagerly joined forces to restore the beauty of our coastal areas.

Approximately 60 students from prominent schools such as St. George Primary, St. George’s Secondary and Elmore Stoutt High School alongside their parents, convened at dawn to make a difference.

The event received a boost from Honorable Luce Hodge Smith, the 4th District representative, who generously provided light refreshments for the hardworking participants.

With support from the Solid Waste Department, which furnished essential supplies including bags, volunteers divided into teams and diligently worked from the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park to Queen Elizabeth II Park. Their efforts resulted in the collection of an impressive 20 bags filled with debris, ranging from plastic chairs to tires, underscoring the urgency of addressing environmental degradation.
