Man Succumbs After Being Rescued from Sea at Wickhams Cay 1

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has launched an investigation into an incident that occurred earlier today in the vicinity of Village Cay Wickhams Cay 1, Tortola.

According to eyewitnesses, a man, who appeared to be in a deranged state, intentionally threw himself into the sea, prompting immediate intervention from concerned eyewitnesses.

Eyewitnesses at the scene observed the man struggling in the water and successfully rescued the distressed individual.

Upon receiving the report, the RVIPF promptly responded and transported the man to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, the man’s condition deteriorated, and he was pronounced dead sometime after his arrival.

In a statement, the RVIPF confirmed their response to a report of a male exhibiting erratic behavior at Village Cay in the early hours of October 13. “The individual was swiftly transferred to Dr. Orlando Hospital for treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries soon after his arrival.”

The police force assured the public that investigations are currently active and further information will be provided as necessary.

Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information or potential leads related to the incident to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
