Importers are being advised that unclaimed goods will be auctioned on Saturday, June 24 at the British Virgin Virgin Islands Ports Authority, Port Purcell, Tortola.

BVI Ports Authority in a statement this week said importers have until Friday, June 23 to pick up their shipments after providing a bill of lading, invoice, or any other relevant documentation.

“Unclaimed goods may be cleared after producing a bill of lading, invoice, or any other relevant documentation. In addition, shipping fees or any other incidental must be paid to the shipper of goods before His Majesty’s Customs will allow clearance,” the statement said.

BVI Ports Authority explained that the list of all goods and importers’ names will be posted for viewing only at HM Customs’ stations in Road Town, Port Purcell, West End, Beef Island, Virgin Gorda, and the main headquarters.

All perishable goods will be disposed of due to the duration of time at the ports.  The auction starts at 9 a.m.
