Twenty Haitian Migrants Discovered in Virgin Gorda
The Department of Immigration has reported the discovery of twenty irregular Haitian migrants in the North Sound area of Virgin Gorda on Tuesday, July 23.
The group, comprising twelve males, seven females and three children, is currently undergoing intake processes conducted by the Department of Immigration’s Enforcement Unit. The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s Marine Unit assisted in transporting the migrants from Virgin Gorda to Tortola.
The department has committed to continued collaboration with other law enforcement agencies and the community to combat human smuggling within and through the Territory’s waters.
