Female Charged With Uttering a Forged Document

Tasheka Bernard was arrested on July 4, as part of an ongoing investigation into a forged document presented to the BVI Immigration Department in 2022.

Bernard, 31, of Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, has been charged with one count of Conspiracy to Provide False Information to a Person Employed in a Public Service, in violation of sections 124 and 346 of the 2013 Criminal Code, and one count of Conspiracy to Utter a Forged Document, in violation of sections 257 and 346 of the same code.

She was granted $20,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at the Magistrate’s Court on September 12.

This investigation is being led by the COI Police Investigation Team.

As the matter is now sub judice, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) will make no further comment.
