The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) is currently investigating a violent burglary that took place on June 5, at a residence in Slaney Hill, Tortola.
The incident involved two men armed with knives who invaded the home, held the maid hostage, and assaulted her before fleeing with stolen items.
The crime has caused considerable alarm among the local community, with details of the incident swiftly spreading on social media. In response, RVIPF Commissioner Mark Collins assured the public that significant progress has been made, even though the investigation is in its early stages.
“On Sunday, June 9, we executed a search on a property at Purcell Estate, Tortola, and recovered some of the items that were stolen from the residence. A suspect was also arrested at the same property,” Commissioner Collins revealed.
