Torrential Rains Force Closure of Public Schools

In a precautionary move aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff, all public schools across the territory will remain closed today, Wednesday, 8th May due to adverse weather conditions.

With forecasts predicting a continuation of torrential rains, authorities have deemed it necessary to suspend school operations.

This decision is crucial for ensuring the safety of our students and staff,” the Education Department states in a press release “With a seventy percent chance of showers, the risk of hazards and disruptions is significant.

In an effort to mitigate the impact on education, teachers will be facilitating lessons and issuing assignments through online platforms. Students and parents are encouraged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions during this period of inclement weather.

“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in prioritising the well-being of our school community,” expressed the statement. “Stay safe and take the necessary precautions.”
