Star-Studded Lineup Announced for Virgin Islands Music Festival
– Rotimi, Freddie Jackson, Gramps Morgan, Alkaline to Perform
Director of Tourism Clive McCoy revealed the revival of the Virgin Islands Music Festival scheduled after a decade-long hiatus during a press conference held on March 22nd.
Foremost among McCoy’s announcements was the revelation that the plot of land behind the central administration complex would be transformed into a venue for the festival. “Picture an enchanting setting where music and culture come together to create an atmosphere,” McCoy enthused.
Emphasising the festival’s significance, McCoy highlighted its role as a precursor for the 70th Emancipation celebrations. “The Virgin Islands Music Festival will be three days of excitement, celebration, and musical bliss,” he proclaimed, igniting anticipation among attendees.
Attendees were urged to prepare for a star-studded lineup of artists who would grace the stage May 24th – 26. McCoy proudly unveiled a roster that included Rotimi, Freddie Jackson, Gramps Morgan, Alkaline, and local acts. “Get ready to be mesmerised by their performances,” McCoy exclaimed.
Reflecting on the festival’s hiatus since 2014, McCoy underscored its significance as a revival of an event known for its entertainment and energy. “With the reintroduction of the Virgin Islands Music Festival, we aim to reignite the spirit of celebration, unity, and artistic expression,” McCoy remarked.
McCoy also announced plans to integrate the festival with the Leverick Bay Poker Run, scheduled for May 26th, 2024. “The timing couldn’t be more perfect,” he noted, expressing delight at the opportunity for attendees to enjoy a double dose of enjoyment.
