Diamante Gumbs Sets School Record at Keyth Talley Invitational
Diamante Gumbs soared to new heights at the Keyth Talley Invitational yesterday, March 23, by setting a new school record in the hammer throw event.
Just one week prior, at the Louisiana Classic, Gumbs had made headlines by breaking both his personal best and the British Virgin Islands record with a remarkable toss of 185-4 in the hammer throw. However, in Baton Rouge, he surpassed even his own lofty standards, launching the hammer an astonishing distance of 193-4.
This throw not only shattered his previous records but also set a new standard for Northwestern State University’s track and field program, eclipsing the mark set by Marquise Foster in 2018.
