The preliminary round of the 2024 Inter-Secondary School Debate Competition concluded with St. Georges Secondary School, the Virgin Islands School of Technical Studies (VISTS), BFEC, and ESHS advancing to the semi-final round.

The final debate of this round, held at the New Testament Church of God International Worship Centre Activity Hall on February 9, centered around the moot: “The BVI is ill-prepared to address the health challenges posed by an aging population.”

In a competitive exchange, the opposition team, Bregado Flax Educational Centre (BFEC), was declared the winner over the proposition team, Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS).

The upcoming semi-final round, scheduled for February 28 and 29, sets the stage for a battle for the championship title.
