Akeem Joseph and Kyreek Gardner Arrested in Virgin Gorda Stop and Search Operation
– Third Suspect Escapes on Foot, Remains at Large
In a stop and search operation conducted on Virgin Gorda last Thursday, January 18, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force officers apprehended three male occupants in a vehicle. The thorough search revealed two firearms—a rifle and a hand pistol, along with multiple rounds of ammunition and a significant quantity of suspected cannabis.
Akeem E. Joseph, 37, hailing from St Croix, USVI, and Kyreek Gardner, 22, from The Valley, Virgin Gorda, are facing joint charges, including Possession of a Prohibited Firearm, Keeping an Unlicensed Firearm, two counts of Unlawful Possession of explosives, Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply. Both individuals are currently in custody and will await the next available sitting at the Magistrate’s Court.
The third occupant managed to escape on foot and is still at large. Described as 5 ft tall, with a dark skin complexion and plaited hair, he was last seen wearing a red top, blue jeans, and a gold chain.
