Another Arrest Made in Connection with Pier Park Robbery

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has charged Vernon Bernard in connection with the armed robbery that took place at the House of Luxury Jewelry Store in Tortola Pier Park in July 2023.

The 32-year-old of Manuel Reef, now faces charges of Robbery, Handling Stolen Goods, and Possession of the Proceeds of Criminal Conduct.

On July of 2023, RVIPF responded to reports of an armed robbery at Tortola Pier Park. Two masked men, clad in white attire, entered a prominent business, making off with valuable jewelry from the showcase.

The robbery theft took a dangerous turn when the masked assailants fired shots into the air during their escape. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Bernard is the latest individual to face charges in connection to this daring crime. He is slated to appear before the Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting.

The police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the robbery or possesses information—no matter how seemingly insignificant—to come forward.
