Montverde Academy Names Adaejah Hodge as Student-Athlete of the Week
Montverde Academy’s Department of Athletics announces Adaejah Hodge as the Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 14.
Hodge, a prominent member of the girls’ track & field team, continues to make waves after her remarkable achievements in the previous season, including securing the title of Gatorade Florida Player of the Year in track & field in 2023.
In an outstanding performance at the Virginia Showcase in Virginia Beach over the weekend, Hodge demonstrated her prowess by clinching victory in the 300-meter dash with an impressive time of 36.97 seconds, marking the fourth-fastest time in the history of American girls’ track & field. She also triumphed in the 50-meter dash, setting a personal best time of 6.24 seconds. Adding to her achievements, Hodge achieved a personal best time of 7.24 seconds in the 60-meter dash, securing a second-place finish. In the 55-meter dash, she once again claimed the second spot with a time of 6.75 seconds.
Hodge played a pivotal role in setting the tempo for the Eagles, leading the team to victory in the 4 x 400-meter relay with an American girls’ high school indoor record time of 3:37.63.
A twelfth-grader in her second year at MVA, Hodge recently committed to continuing her track and field career at The University of Georgia.
Looking ahead, Hodge and the entire indoor track & field roster are gearing up for their next challenge at the RADD Sunshine Showcase in Gainesville, FL, scheduled for Saturday, January 20, and Sunday, January 21. Montverde Academy continues to celebrate the exceptional achievements of its student-athletes, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics.
