Territory Mourns Loss of Tourism Trailblazer and Community Champion, Mrs. Grace P. Flax-Waters
The entire Virgin Islands mourns the loss of Mrs. Grace P. Flax-Waters, a mother, patriot, tourism icon, and community advocate, who passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, on Virgin Gorda at the age of 81.
Born on January 21, 1942, Mrs. Flax-Waters dedicated much of her life to the tourism sector, notably contributing to the renowned Little Dix Bay Hotel on Virgin Gorda. A proud member of the Lions Club of Virgin Gorda, she was known for her deep love for the island.
Mrs. Flax-Waters, survived by her daughter Ingrid, was not only a champion for the rights and needs of her community but also served on various boards and committees, reflecting her strong commitment to Virgin Gorda’s well-being. Her outspoken nature made her a respected voice on political and social issues.
The legacy of Mrs. Grace P. Flax-Waters will be remembered fondly by a community she dedicated her life to serving.
