This weekend’s fiercely competitive 60m showdown at the VA Showcase 2024 is gearing up for what promises to be the highlight race of the event.

Scheduled for Saturday at 12:10 p.m. GMT at the Virginia Beach Sports Centre, the race boasts an impressive lineup of top athletes.

Leading the pack is the reigning MileSplit50 Athlete of the Year, Adaejah Hodge. She faces stiff competition from two-time 60m national champion Brianna Selby and Mia Brahe-Pedersen, the No. 1 recruit in the MileSplit50 Class of 2024. Also competing is Maryland’s standout sprinter Elise Cooper and rising star Skyler Franklin from Florida. The field further includes notable contenders such as Sariah Doresca, Anyeh Bronson, Futoria Harris and Kindal Smith.

The event sets the stage for a potential face-off between Adaejah and Mia, a moment many have been eagerly awaiting. Brianna Selby, the reigning New Balance and adidas Indoor champion, adds another layer of intrigue to the competition, having previously beaten Mia in the 60m Nike Indoor Nationals.

The intense competition during the preliminaries only heightens the anticipation for the final, where the race is expected to be won or lost in the final hundredths of a second.

With over 3,200 athletes and 300 teams from across the United States, including standout recruits and returning champions, the stakes are high for this year’s VA Showcase.
