Inclusive Apprenticeship Programme Empowers Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre Students
The Eslyn Henley Richiez Learning Centre is championing the capabilities of students with special educational needs through its innovative apprenticeship programme.
Tre Williams and Kymani Smith, senior students at the centre, are currently participating in this transformative experience, and working in Retail at Riteway, Pasea, for two days a week for the remainder of the programme.
The Learning Centre is redefining the narrative surrounding special needs education by firmly believing that these students not only can learn but can also make significant contributions to their community. The institution is on a mission to provide the necessary tools for these students to mature in all aspects of their lives, enabling them to reach their fullest potential.
The senior students, starting from the age of 16, are actively engaged in the school’s apprenticeship programme, a unique venture that allows them to explore various career paths and gain hands-on experience in real-world settings.
Through partnerships with businesses like Riteway, Pasea, the apprenticeship programme ensures that students receive tailored training and exposure to their chosen fields.
