Female Tourist Rescued from Long Bay Beef Island Beach in Critical Condition Succumbs
The female tourist who was rescued from the sea at Long Bay Beef Island Beach earlier today, December 6, has succumbed to her critical condition after being rushed to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
Just weeks prior, on November 22, a male tourist aboard the Aida Diva cruise ship encountered a similar situation at Smugglers Cove Beach.
Eyewitnesses reported that the tourist suddenly began struggling in the water, prompting a swift response from those nearby. Acting quickly, several individuals rushed to his aid and managed to bring him safely to shore. However, the seriousness of his condition became apparent, leading to an urgent decision to transport him to Dr. D. Orlando Smith Hospital.
The incidents have reignited concerns among the community about the absence of lifeguards at various beaches across the territory, including Smugglers Cove Beach.
Frustrations were expressed by witnesses who lamented the lack of trained professionals that could potentially prevent such distressing situations.
