BVI Airport Authority Firefighters Successfully Complete Intensive Training in the UK

The BVI Airport Authority has welcomed thirteen newly graduated firefighters to its team. These firefighters successfully completed an intensive training program at the prestigious Newcastle International Training Academy in New Castle, United Kingdom.

The training sessions were divided into two phases, with the first group undergoing rigorous training from September 18th to October 20th, followed by the second set from October 23rd to November 24th.

The decision to send these firefighters for training was motivated by staffing demands and to ensure compliance with airport regulations. A representative from the BVI Airports Authority emphasised the importance of having a team of officially certified officers to maintain and enhance the highest standards of safety and emergency response capabilities at the airport.

The newly graduated firefighters, who have completed the comprehensive training program, include Dennis Tyson, Elvette Dore, Alward Forbes, Jamal Gordon, Rickie Legair, Andrew David, Carlon O’Neil, Brandon Sylvester, Stephon Caul, Shakhoy Smith, Ryan Alfred, Nicholas Thomas, and Revvone White.

Their successful completion of the training is not only a testament to their dedication but also a significant step forward in fortifying the airport’s emergency response capabilities, ensuring the safety and security of passengers and staff alike.
