Deputy Governor David Archer Jr. Is Acting As Governor

Deputy Governor David Archer, Jr. is set to assume the duties of the Office of Governor from November 12 to November 24, covering the period of His Excellency the Governor, Mr. John J. Rankin, CMG’s absence from the Territory.

This appointment follows the guidelines outlined in section 37 (1) (a) of the Virgin Islands Constitution Order, 2007.

As per this constitutional provision, if the Governor’s office is vacant or if the Governor is absent from the Virgin Islands, the Deputy Governor, at Her Majesty’s pleasure, shall act in the office of Governor and carry out the functions of that office accordingly.
