BVI Women’s Under 23 Volleyball Team Secures Bronze at Eastern Caribbean Championship

The British Virgin Islands Women’s National Under 23 Volleyball team secured the Bronze Medal at the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Championship on Sunday, September 24. The team defeated host country Dominica, sweeping them in three straight sets.

St. Lucia claimed the championship title, while St. Maarten secured the silver medal.

The BVI team faced a challenging start, losing their opening game to Dominica with a score of 3-1. However, they rebounded in the final encounter, winning all three sets, 25-14, 25-21, and 25-21, to secure the bronze medal.

In the semi-finals, the BVI lost to St. Lucia in straight sets, 17-25, 21-25, and 17-25.

On September 23, they defeated Anguilla in three straight sets, 27-25, 25-14, and 25-10, which secured the territory’s women a place in the semi-finals. This victory follows BVI’s impressive comeback win against Grenada, where they fought from a first-set loss to claim victory in three consecutive sets.
