BVI Faces Anguilla After Exciting 3-1 Win Over Grenada

Following their impressive 3-1 win over Grenada on Thursday, the British Virgin Islands Women’s National Under 23 Volleyball team is set to face Anguilla today in their third match of the Eastern Caribbean Championship.

On September 20, the team showcased a remarkable comeback after losing the first set 19-25, winning three consecutive sets – 25-22, 25-20, 25-23 at the Massacre Indoor Facility.

This victory came after a 3-1 defeat to Dominica in their opening game on September 20.

Today’s match against Anguilla marks their opponent’s first game in the tournament, which features eight islands divided into two groups.

Pool A consists of Antigua and Barbuda, Saba, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, while Pool B includes Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, and Grenada.

After the group stage, the first and second-place finishers from each group will advance to the semifinals.

The third-place islands from each group will compete for fifth place, while the fourth-place islands will participate in the seventh-place match.

The British Virgin Islands’ game against Anguilla is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. The tournament will conclude on September 23.
