The British Virgin Islands Women’s National Under 23 Volleyball team on Saturday evening defeated Anguilla in three straight sets to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the Eastern Caribbean Championship.

The September 23 match started off with a nail-biting first set, but the BVI managed to edge out Anguilla with a close score of 27-25 to take the first set.

This early win set the tone for the rest of the game, with a confident Team BVI overpowering Anguilla in the second set with a commanding 25-14 victory.

The third set saw the team maintain their momentum, leaving Anguilla struggling to keep up. The final set ended with a score of 24-10 which secured the territory’s women a place in the semi-finals.

This victory follows BVI’s impressive comeback win against Grenada, where they fought from a first-set loss to claim victory in three consecutive sets.

Later tonight, the BVI will face a formidable opponent in St. Lucia. The winner of this crucial match will advance to the finals, bringing them one step closer to championship glory.

The team’s performance in the tournament thus far has been commendable, with their only defeat coming in their opening game against Dominica.
