BVI Women’s Under 23 Volleyball Team Suffers 3-1 Defeat to Dominica in Eastern Caribbean Championship Opener
The British Virgin Islands Women’s National Under 23 Volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat to Dominica in their September 20 opening game of the Eastern Caribbean Championship,
The host country initially took the lead with a score of 25-19, but the British Virgin Islands made a comeback, winning the second set with 22-25.
However, Dominica dominated the third and fourth sets, securing victory with impressive scores of 25-14 and 25-19 at the Massacre Indoor Facility.
The tournament features eight islands divided into two groups: Pool A includes Antigua and Barbuda, Saba, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, while Pool B consists of Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, and Grenada.
After the group stage, the first and second place finishers from each group will advance to the semifinals. The islands in third place from each group will compete in the fifth place match, while the islands in fourth place will participate in the seventh place match.
The British Virgin Islands women return to the floor tonight, September 21 at 9 p.m., to take on Grenada.
The tournament concludes on September 23.
