Kyron McMaster Finishes Third In Prefontaine Classic In Oregon
World Championships 400-metre hurdles silver medalist Kyron McMaster on Saturday crossed the finish line third in the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, United States.
McMaster showcased his skills by completing the race in 47.31 seconds at Hayward Field. The event was won by American Rai Benjamin with a time of 46.39 seconds, followed by World Champion and 2020 Olympic gold medalist Karsten Warholm of Norway, who finished in second place in 46.53 seconds.
The British Virgin Islands track star had previously achieved a significant victory in late August at the Zurich Diamond League, where he ended Warholm’s winning streak by crossing the finish line in 47.27 seconds, ahead of Warholm’s time of 47.30 seconds for second place. Brazilian athlete Alison Dos Santos finished in third place with a time of 47.62 seconds.
McMaster is a two-time Commonwealth Games Champ and two-time Diamond League trophy winner.
The Diamond League kicked off today and will conclude on Sunday, September 17. Top athletes from across the world will run in a total of 32 finals for trophies and cash prizes.
