Magnitude 4.8 Earthquake Felt in the Virgin Islands

The British Virgin Islands experienced a magnitude 4.8 earthquake today at approximately 3:49 am.

According to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at Latitude: 19.00 North and Longitude: 64.49 West, approximately 58 kilometers from the British Virgin Islands.

The British Virgin Islands Disaster Management has confirmed that there are no tsunami advisories, watches, or warnings associated with this earthquake.

The earthquake affected several other countries including Dominica, Saint Martin, Sint Maarten, Guadeloupe, Montserrat, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, U.S. Virgin Islands, Venezuela, Caribbean Netherlands, Saint Barthélemy, Antigua and Barbuda, and Anguilla.
