18-Year-Old Among Four Charged With Robbery

Police have charged four persons with robbery stemming from different incidents in July and August.

A Royal Virgin Islands Police statement said Jelani Marquis, 27, of Hannah’s Estate, and Shamul Mitchell, 35, of Lower Estate, both on Tortola, were detained on July 7 at around 3:50 p.m.

Marquis was charged with robbery and unlawful possession of a controlled drug, and Mitchell was charged with robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled drug.

Eighteen-year-old Jason Smith of Sea Cow’s Bay, Tortola, on August 2 was arrested and charged with three counts of robbery, unlawful possession of a controlled drug, and resisting arrest.

Two days later, on August 4, Police detained Kimron White, 19, of Prospect Reef, Tortola, at around 1:30 p.m. and charged him with three counts of robbery.
