Truck Slams Into Utility Pole Causing Power Outage Across JVD
A truck this afternoon crashed into a utility pole in the East End of Jost Van Dyke causing a major power outage on the east end of the island.
Reports reaching JTV are that the accident occurred after 2 p.m on Saturday, August 19 on the sister island, and that a technical crew from the British Virgin Islands Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) main office on Tortola was expected to travel to Jose Van Dyke to restore electricity.
Meanwhile, residents are concerned that they will be without power until tomorrow, August 20.
JTV is awaiting an official statement from the BVIEC.
