Three BVI Stars Playing For Team GB in the Under 23 Baseball European Championship
British Virgin Islands baseball players Kennard Dawson, Reyondre Mercer and Demoi Hodge are members of Team Great Britain preparing to play in August 11 semi-final match against Germany in the Under 23 Baseball European Championship in Wiener Neustadt, Austria.
Team GB won their first game on August 8 against Czechia 8-3, and spectacularly defeated Austria on August 9 with a score line of 4-10.
But they lost to a strong Netherlands on August 10 with a final score of 0-1.
“We fall just short of a third win in Vienna after a tightly contested ball game against the Dutch, led by an incredibly gutsy performance on the mound from Matteo Sollecito, with 6 hitless innings. We’re back at it tomorrow in semi-final action,” shared Team GB on their social media page.
In a much-anticipated semi-final showdown, Team GB will play Germany on August 11.
The championship kicked off on August 8 and will conclude on August 12.
