Last Chance to Get Certified: Food Handlers Urged to Attend Virtual Training for Festival Activities
In a final push to ensure compliance with food safety regulations during the upcoming festival, Deputy Chief Environmental Health Officer, Ms. Henrietta Alexander, is urging all food handlers participating in festival activities to seize the opportunity and get certified.
Recognizing the importance of continuous training, Ms. Alexander emphasized that the division has been offering multiple training sessions over the years, providing individuals with ample opportunities to become certified. However, with the festival just around the corner, the division has scheduled two food handler sessions on July 18 to ensure participants have access to the required certification for food selling operations.
To further streamline the process, Ms. Alexander also reminded individuals to renew their food handler’s card at least a month prior to its expiration date. To renew, individuals must present their expired certificates, work permits, and/or picture identification.
The food handlers’ sessions will be conducted virtually via the WebEx platform on Tuesday, July 18 at 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Interested food handlers are urged to register individually using their personal email before 12:00 noon on July 17. Registration links for each session are provided below:
